“Thanks to all who voted for us!” said John Sorg, CEO of Sorg Jewelers. “For the THIRTEENTH straight year – once again – we are truly humbled and honored to be awarded The Elkhart Truth’s BEST jewelry store of Elkhart County! In times of so much uncertainty, our community and neighbors have always been able to count on us for our unwavering approach to our very high-level of service and jewelry. Those have always been a certainty with Sorg’s and our clients rely on us for that. As I’ve said before, this award is a true testament about our community and how they continue to embrace us with their long standing trust in Sorg Jewelers, and with that, have recognized us THE BEST jewelry store in Elkhart County – in multiple succession. This award makes us feel very much appreciated – equal to how we appreciate our clients.” added John. “THIRTEEN-peat…what an achievement!” said Darin Sorg, President. “Winning twelve times in a row at anything is extremely difficult. While we celebrate this win, at the same time we will not be resting on our laurels. We owe it to our clients to be THE BEST and at the top of our game. Our caring sales staff and award-winning goldsmith department undeniably pride themselves in delivering the best experience, the best craftsmanship, the best knowledge, the best service and the best gifts to offer our clients – through in and throughout. So we’re exceptionally pleased, and to a certain degree, it’s fitting that we have earned and have been recognized – again – as being THE BEST in what we do as we secure our foothold to the #1 spot on the podium again. Within ourselves, we recognize the fact that this award and title wasn’t just earned overnight and we are always striving to get better. In business for 123 years and four generations – we celebrate this award with our families, our remarkable staff, and our amazing and loyal clientele. Perhaps, with this sequence of wins, we may garner some attention for anyone that has yet to visit one of our stores – in need of our beautiful gifts and services. I trust they would appreciate the experience and the exceptional value that Sorg Jewelers offers and what we can do for them!”, added Darin.
What started as one man’s passion has turned into a family’s tradition. Sigmund Sorg founded Sorg Jewelers in 1900 in Roanoke, Illinois. Second generation sons, Sidney, Earl, Nelson and Richard carried on the business for decades. Now third and fourth generation Sorg’s are in charge of the storied family business that has been in Elkhart County since the late 1920’s. John Sorg (Sidney’s son) is CEO and Darin Sorg (John’s son) is President. They carry on the tradition and legacy of trust, high ethical standards, knowledge, fair pricing and value through their two stores. It is a simple, yet crucial formula for the stores’ success. Everything else builds from those five important keys. All of Sorg’s staff is non-commissioned and they feel that their attentive, superior service and their consistency in their high quality of jewelry are some main reasons that keeps clients coming back, generation after generation – now for over 123 years.
In addition to their longevity in business and being awarded Elkhart County’s BEST jewelry store, (thirteen straight years – since its inception) Sorg Jewelers separates themselves from the rest with their membership in the highly accredited American Gem Society (AGS), which has rigorous standards that must be met for membership. The AGS is an organization consisting of the most elite jewelry stores in the United States and Canada that are reviewed and re-tested annually. As Elkhart County’s only AGS member, Sorg’s responsibilities are to be knowledgeable, protect consumers from fraudulent pricing and deceitful business practices. Clients must be able to depend on someone they can trust – and Sorg Jewelers is it!
More than a jewelry store, it is a place where love and life’s special moments are remembered. Before the party, before your get-together, before you ask for their hand in marriage, remember your celebration destination…Sorg Jewelers!
